I've made some substantial changes to the way events work. Use the event system? Then listen up!
Event Forum
There is now a single event forum, called "Events". It's right below Games Chat. Got an event? Post it in there.
But wait...!
Creating Events with Discussion Threads
See that "New Event" button next to "New Thread" at the top of the thread listing? You can use that to create an event thread as well as the event itself.
It selects a ranged event as default. There's no choice about that just now (except as an administrative global). If you want a recurring or all-day event then you should go to the calendar and create that from there. The thread will still be created automagically. Nifty, yes?
Prefixes
Please still add the same old event type prefix you have been doing. e.g. [BF2142] Clan Practise. You do not need to add the date prefix, though. That is done automagically for the event forum only.
Events from different games
There is just the one event forum. Got an event for WoW? In the event forum. For BF2142? In the event forum. Guild Wars? In the event forum.
I think you get the picture. If by some miracle we're flooded with events then I'll create separate calendars and separate event forums for them. In the absence of that, the single event forum will suffice just fine.
Problems?
I've had to do a bit of hacking to get this to work. Stuff might be broken or do weird things. Report anything odd here please.
Otherwise, enjoy!
