Hmm,

Are there any plans to improve/move the events box so that it is more prominent.

It seems that it's being overlooked quite a lot.

Could this be discussed here please.

Personally I think it should be moved to the top or a side box should be created so that it becomes a strong and obvious feature.

I'm not sure about a side box, especially in the amber template.

I know what you mean about the events box, however I'm not sure what the best solution is. Not everyone wants to know about the events, and so anyone in that category will complain if it's moved up to the top.

In fact, I've had an idea: why not stick the 'upcoming events' box under the Games Announcements forum? It seems a reasonably logical place to put it, assuming that vB will allow you to do so.

Well, that template's been in that state for around 7/8 weeks now. I use it every day to remind me that I've not done it yet. Uhm... two/three days of hard work? Three/four weeks of poking at it now and then?

All that depends on me actually doing that, which I've not a lot of capacity for at the moment... let me scope out what I'd need to do to make it "sufficiently" function to release, without any neato graphics. If I've not replied on this by, say, Friday then poke me.
