Fable 2, coming soon

I'm really looking forward to this...

According to Gamespot & Play.com, Fable 2 is coming out in the UK on 30th May.

For those who've not been paying attention, some of the interesting features of Fable 2 include:

• External Xbox Live Arcade games that link to the gameworld itself, so you can effectively play pub games and win gameworld cash that you can use to buy stuff in-game.
• Your trusty pet dog.
• Ad-hoc cooperative play, in the style of Crackdown (as far as I can tell).
• You can play a female character, which is novel and also means that your character can get pregnant...

... and probably loads of other stuff too.

Sounds good! But it leaves me the big question - will I still be playing GTAIV (released 29th April) when Fable 2 comes out? I hate it when two big games run into each other and force me to choose one or the other, because I never end up going back to the other one (á la Mass Effect, still not even put in my 360 to this day)

Guitar Hero 3 and Eternal Sonata.

Mass Effect still hasn't been in my 360 since I got it about 2 months ago now.

I knew you were going to say GH3... Mass Effect is fun, but I can't bring myself to play it a THIRD time to get the achievements I want. And the "Play the majority of the game with character X" just annoys me, seeing as I did all but 2 secondary missions and didn't get the darn achievement >_<

I think it was BioShock for me, and then a Forza 2 car pack after that and then Call of Duty 4 and ... well, I never did get round to it.

Sucks that it's Xbox360 exclusive, I'd love to play Fable2, even if I have to use my PC for it

Well, I imagine it'll only be exclusive for 6-12 months. After all, the original Fable was an Xbox exclusive and it's available on PCs.

They've now announced the release date for Fable 2: 24th October, in Europe, only on X360.

The three pub games that sit in parallel to Fable 2 are apparently available next week (13th August) on XBL and, if I understand them correctly, you can play those to earn gold for the actual game... not sure how that works prior to the game being released, though.

This is one of the games I'm really looking forward to this year.

Great my brothers realy looking forward to this. He asks me all the time whens fable out?
Nice to know looks impresive i loved the first one, lets hope its not easy like the 1st one.
All you had to do is go to the hob cave and run back and forth through areas nd get stupd combos and get max stats within an hour or so

Not long 'til Fable 2 is out, but apparently it will be launching without its online coop mode (link to: Eurogamer). At least for the first week 'til a patch is out to re-enable that.

Apparently, local coop isn't affected and you'll see the little "friend" orbs. Smacks of server troubles to me. Did someone forget to requisition the appropriate rack space at their hosting company in time...?
