With the risk of getting totally off track here, say what? I know you people use stones, feet, etc, being generally scientifically vague, but you don't actually think thumbs are anything other than fingers, right?

Aslo your fingers have 3 "hinges" ( joints) whereas your thumb has 2

Fingers are Fingers
Both are Digits

The differentiation is due to the opposable nature of the thumb which is a rather important fact in our evolution and ability to use tools.

Thumbs only have 2 points of movement whereas Fingers have 3!Things are lot more difficult without a thumb

Ach you are all just being pedantic . I would say a thumb is a finger.

If a thumb is not a finger then does that mean - you can kick the ball out of the goal keepers hands and claim he did not have 10 fingers on the ball .
