Firefox 2 Address Bar searching

Ok, so I've recently updated to Firefox 2. Now, in 1.5, whenever I typed a string containing spaces into the address bar, Firefox would do an "I'm feeling lucky" Google search on it. In Firefox 2, however, any strings containing spaces give a "Bad url error". Some people have said this is because of Firefox 2 using the "Browse by name" Google search. I have changed the keyword.url in Firefox 2's "about:config" location, ala this guide, but to no avail.

Just wondering if anyone has this problem? Rep to anyone who fixes it!

Cheers

Well, typing strings with spaces into my address bar does a regular google search. So... I have no idea :P

Yeah, people seem to be getting mixed results with this. *sigh*

Alt+D doesn't take you to the search bar, now does it?

It may not seem like much, but when you're that used to doing something one way, it's a real inconvenience to do it another.

What BiG_D said. Also, I don't like the Google Toolbar and it is therefore not installed. Plus, I use the search bar to search Wikipedia. Having the address bar do a Google search gives me a quick way to do 2 searches. Ok, I could just click the search bar, select Google, search, but then I would have to change back to Wikipedia when I want that. It's an annoyance, not a necessity, but I don't see why the people at Mozilla decided to break it for me! It's ANNOYING! :(

That's not the point. If you're used to hitting alt+d and then typing a search term, when that stops working you'll be quite inconvenienced. It doesn't matter if there's another way to do it, it isn't the way you're used to.
