An entire movie rendered in high definition, produced with open source tools and distributed by bittorrent for free !!

Too good to be true ? Nope, and the movie is called Elephants Dream.

There is a lengthy wikipedia interview on the making of and philosophy of the film and its distribution.

I'm using a little of serenity's bandwidth to seed the High Definition torrent right now (alongside more seeders than I've EVER seen in my life !). So jump aboard and download via the torrent link above if you are interested.

Just read the interview and it sounds crazy enough that I can get all pretentious about it :).

Have to wait until I get home to watch it though .

What did you think of it Haven?

Something else along these lines although you'll have to be quick to get it.

Pearl Jam have released a video under the CC license for a short promotional period.

Any fans should give it a look.

I'm liking the idea of this Creative Commons licensing. Can only be a good thing.
