[FIXED?] problems with shoutout box

hi guys

im having problem with the shoutbos. when ever i tipe some thing in and go to edit it (i click the save button) then nothing happens
a little help plz

After clicking save whatever changes you made should be done. The box should change so you can't edit it anymore. Is it not changing at all when you click save?

no its not changing for me... and its not letting me delet massages

I can confirm that I can't edit messages either. I click save, it seems to have saved (the box changes), I go back to the main page, and it's still the same. Even with a cache clear.

It works fine for me. I just did a test there and my edit appeared in the front page.

I followed your lead, and tried to edit it to match yours. It didn't. Tried again, and still no joy. May the logs will have the proof!

This leads me to believe that it's a permission problem then, as I can edit my shouts fine and also your's.

So yeah must be something to do with the permissions. Just have to wait for one of the big scary red named people to come on and have a tinker .

Yeah. Moderators and the like can edit, normal users cannot. Ronin had changed that at some point, but with all the server jumping and such it likely got reset...

It's kind of a permissions issue, but it's all hardcode. I'm not sure what has changed, though, because the fix to allow people to edit their own shouts was made ages back...

Oh, hang on... got it figured. The edit-own-shouts functionality was lost when I used a slightly older copy of vBShout to fix the apostrophe problem. I'll find the fix again and reapply shortly.

This should now be fixed.

Please try it out and let me know if there are any problems. Incidentally, a Mod or Admin won't be able to verify the fix as they have mod-privs on the shoutbox regardless.
