Forum change and a bit more EVE

You may have noticed a change in the way sub-forums are presented. This is to neaten up the display and to stop a bunch of private sub-forums from becoming an unreadable mess.

We've also added a small number of additional EVE forums to support a burgeoning alliance in the EVE world. Called the New Eden Retail Federation, we may be seeing a small influx of board members over the next few days. With the excitement of a double wardec as well I think this could be quite interesting... :)

Ahey, :)

Speaking of, my main page seems to show unread posts in the EVE forum, but when I click in, I get nothing...

Must be something weird going on with sub-forums...

Cheers,
J.

used to get this occasionally with wow forums. It's todo with a change being made and a subforum you dont have access to getting unread posts. I don't believe it should happen all the time, just if an architectural change breaks the unread posts heirarchy, perhaps an admin can clear this up?

I think it's as weird as the rest of you. But, as you say, it does seem to clear itself up (for the most part). The ultimate solution is to "Mark All As Read" but even then it does, from time to time, crop up again. Not at all clear why.

You can also double-click the orange icon that indicates new posts for each forum to mark just that subforum as read.

Right after the change the main EVE post indicater was orange for me, however there were no new posts in any subforums or the main forum itself (I even checked the private one was marked as read).

Yeah. The marking is the thing that goes awry. I think you end up with a warning even if you could never have seen the post, but it doesn't happen most of the time.
