[Tech] Free computer bits

So, super long story short, I'm getting some new computer parts (mobo, RAM, CPU, graphics card and PSU), and will therefore have some old parts (mobo, CPU, RAM, and graphics cards (the PSU is dead)) to give away.

They are:
  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0Ghz
  • Asus Striker Extreme motherboard
  • 4Gb (4x 1Gig sticks) of DDR2 PC2-6400 Crucial RAM
  • Two (2) EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra with 768MBytes onboard (each)

I don't want them. I don't want to keep them around so they can gather dust. And I don't want to spend lots of time, money and/or energy sending things to people. If anyone wants them, I can hold onto them (assuming it's for a reasonable amount of time, such as until a LAN event or whatever) for someone to pick them up or what not. If nobody claims them by tomorrow, they will probably end up in the bin.

If you do want them, just post up in this thread, and claim them. We can then chat about getting them from me to you. First come, first serve, I'm afraid.

Any questions are welcome!

can always make use of a spare GPU, if nobody else claims them could you throw it at someone for me to grab at i43?

Turns out I don't have boxes to post anything :( Iron is getting his graphics card in an anti-static bag. Also, 8800 ultras are going for £25 new. It would be cheaper (and better with warranty and what not) to buy one new, rather than pay me for postage.

And they get thrown away as I find that otherwise I keep sh*t that I never use, forget about, and then find years later.

If you still have the RAM at i43 I'd much like it, more ram makes for better game servers.

Also if anything is left by i43 just throw it up as a prize for a THN drunken FPS competition or something, everyone loves prizes, even poo prizes.

Nanor has got the RAM, I'm afraid. And I really don't want to hold on to stuff until a LAN I'm not going to, unless someone feels like saying they will definitely come by and pick it up...?

As an FYI, all computer bits are now accounted for. Thanks all!

If anyone else has stuff cluttering up their house/office that other THN'ers could make use of for the price of postage - post it up in this thread. Seems like a good idea to me anyway :)

Dibs on the Harddrive.
Was looking for a secondary hard drive to make my VM for servers... a little more permanent.
