Frets on Fire.

Anyone who has played guitar hero will be very familiar, and those of us without a PS2 can get our fix. If you can find someone who has guitar hero, you can import the songs right into FoF, which is nice because the default songs just don't cut it.

I may be a little obsessed...

Bump! Just discovered this game through this month's PC Gamer (sorry BiG D, must have missed your post first time round).

This game is to be applauded for the very concept it embodies - that of crazily holding a keyboard in a rawk position while hammering on the 'F' keys to the tune of Smoke on the Water... it's an experience .

Importing guitar hero now...

I'll note that I'm currently doing a little side project that involves porting the highscores page on the official site from python to php. If there's enough interest here, it might be worth hosting a private scores page for THN members.

Man, Mr Guntherswarchzhaffenstrassen is right, I do suck .

I have to do it on easy my best score is 76870 on Bang Bang, Mystery Man, but when I try to step it up to medium I only get 30060 .

Best to stick to the bass lines I guess .

Everybody knows bass is better . And that song becomes ludicrous on hard, although medium is not too bad but you have to time using multiple keys in 'chords'

ahhhhhh i had a few goes at first track on easy, thought i was getting better then my housemate comes in and destroys my high score (allbeit a bit poo) on his 1st and only attempt.
i have now been disalusioned.
although it is pretty damn cool

102 on medium, but really, the default songs kinda stink. The guitar hero songs are what makes the game great.

Right, I aced easy on mystery man - 89 thousand something, 100% and 280something note streak. Moving on to medium now.

bigd - would you care to do the dirty work and point us to the guitar hero songs?

Hey hey, me too! Though I got slightly less that 89,000. I think I lift a bit early in some places .

Of the three tracks I think I like This Week I've Been Mostly Playing Guitar the most, but I'm only on 75297 on easy for it so far! If anyone aces it I'll be impressed, and that's on the easiest difficulty!

Not all of them... More than a Feeling, Ziggy Stardust, Killer Queen and I Love Rock & Roll are all fairly easy starting songs. Just stay away from Bark at the Moon.
