Frost Resistance Gear

Made a seperate thread for this so that T-bone's poll doesn't get cluttered.

Basically, for when we have a stab at Sapphy 25, we'll need people to have Frost Resistance gear (preferably two pieces per person). Tailors, Leatherworkers and Blacksmiths can create epic gear with high stam, high frost res, and gem sockets. These are likely the best options since you'll get good survivability out of them in addition to having the sockets to fill with damage/healing gems and not be totally damage-gimped.

The only people who can get away with not having Frost Res gear are Arcane Mages, and only then if you use Mage Armour -and- have the talents to give you inherent resistance. All that in conjuction will be just enough to excuse the lack of Frost Res gear.

Finally, the main point of this thread: I want everyone who can craft Frost Res gear to shout out here so that people know who to go to.

I can craft Cloth gear on Lithaella, and Plate gear on Tahlakash.

Over to everyone else!

For clothies, the following pieces of level 80 gear can be crafted by tailors (myself included):

Glacial Robe
Glacial Slippers
Glacial Waistband

All three pieces together give a total of +286 Frost res.
Combined materials for all three are as follows:
7 Eternal Fire
7 Eternal Water
3 Frozen Orb
7 Eternium Thread
14 Bolt of Imbued Frostweave (this is 140 Frostweave Cloth and 28 Infinite Dust)

If people from The Haven need the leather frost gear if they give Furigar a shout I can make it for them if they got the mats.

Polar Boots
Polar Cord
Polar Vest

Summary of Materials needed:

26 Heavy Borean Leather (10 + 8 + 8)
7 Eternal Fire (3 + 2 + 2)
7 Eternal Water (3 + 2 + 2)
16 Nerubian Chitin (8 + 4 + 4)
3 Frozen Orb (1 + 1 + 1)

Not sure if its worth me getting any of the resistance crafted for my tank, if i swap out any piece i will loose my defence cap. I can swap out for two bits of resistance kit and swap to the 25 defence rune on weapon and the defence sigil which should make up for it.

How ever resistance wise acclimation does work wonders. i could perhaps respec into unholy for more flat mitigation or ever half blood and half frost. Either way through talents i should be able to soften most spell damage i would take [more than an arcane mage through their silly talent atleast]

Corenith can also do these :)

I have spoken to a couple of people in guild about this, I can make the three leather polar pieces, the chest, belt and boots.

The leather I hope to be able to supply, the chittin maybe, but that is more difficult to accrue.

If you guys need Laminal for any of these Whisper me or ask me in guild whilst I am on and I will sort them out for you and what mats I can spare I will happily give, that will be mainly the leather :)

I am a skinner as my main gathering profession, so I have a bunch of leather and stuff like that that can be put to use

Angelic is now properly frost-kitted out (3 pieces + gems into them). Mind you, caster, you lose truckloads of regen and spellpower, so the fight might be a bit tough on you (us). Hopefully the mitigated damage will make up for that.

Like i said try it with 2 first. With a pally aura or shamen totem that gives you alot of resist.

Hey guys,

Good to see you take on Sap-a-lot. I just wanted to share my experiences with resist gear battle with the healers.

Since the damage done should be alot lower, spellpower isn't as big a deal. Generally your mp5 or spirit will be much more important to keep up mana regen(especially since you can't chug pots now). Raid dps will be lower so the fights last longer then your normal boss.

My 2 cents :)
I'm still watching you

Good luck!

I hope to do some more skinning in the next couple of days but with the help of Q man and Raz, on the leather and chittin needs hopefully that will reduce the cost to other guildies if I was to run out of both.

Thank you guys, that would be a great help :)
