Games are good for you

Another forum I go to has a link to this article on it. Far better than the usual scare-mongering trash that too many articles adopt, it shows several well described ways that games are good for you.

We had several classes on our Info Technology where the uses of networking were demonstrated with a full-class networked game of UT and GP500. In fact, we even went inter-class against our cohorts (with the stricter teacher, they had to play undercover) just to prove a point. Ah, those were the days. Well, i guess that was the same class where we were told to look up porn as part of the curriculum (to 'test internet security' allegedly. Serious!)

Oh God Bruce was an ass, but couldn't beat a good game of UT, and even with her breathing down my neck i was always in the top 4 :D though you, KC and Jackson had the advantage that Laird really didn't care. Of course during the entire game i was "working" on my website project :p

Heh, yeah. Insta-gib shockrifles, I can't imagine how much those games improved my reflexes, I felt like a chimpanzee with an electric current every time i played one of those.

Ah, you have no idea. This was the same class in which I won the school prize for computing (jointly with Iron Fist, here) because my teacher added up my prelim results wrong - she added up the same page twice. Of course, I didn't reveal anything until I had the prize in my hands :D

Hmm very interesting ... but still the main problem concerning computer games is that many gamers just can't get away from their toy ...
