Found this weird white line very near my university on Google Earth... (the co-ords are at the bottom of the pic) i'm just wondering what, if any, weird things you guys have seen on Google Earth?

There's a massive black stripe on Google Earth on the Alaska/Canada border... its about 3/4 of the way down from the northernmost part of the land mass... see if you can find it! Apparently the American military has asked them to remove whatever this section is from their images...

Not weird, more odd. I have a caravan on a camping site in France. Zoom into the camp site close enough and you can almost make out each individual tile on the caravans roof! I find it odd that they zoom in on one camping site in Southern France, but you can't see much detail on anything in my home town, a large London suburb.

That black stripe is the new location of Area 51. Apparently they were tired of all the UFO hunters coming to look for the dead aliens, so they moved it to Alaska

Google earth is fun, if you turn on the community landmarks, you find the wierest things. What i managed to find myself was an isolated runway with a white aircraft in columbia, middle of nowhere. Now i wonder what they used that for. I've also seen a burning ship, many aircraft in flight, blackhawk helicopters on a mission in iraq, and a giant ring in the mountains that turned out to be a physics lab with a particle accelerator.

Thats because orpington is rubbish, its all about the dartford, You can make out the make of the football in my garden! Now thats cool

That's the one Nanor. it's bloody large... I have tried the area on MSN maps or whatever the hell they call it but its just green...

The silly bit is, if i were a terrorist or spy or whatever, i could just go there and look, because now i know where it is. Also if one wanted to it would very probably be possible to obtain unaltered images.

If there really is some ubersecret military hardware stored there, why don't they just photoshop it out? Nobody would notice, no fuss.
