[Tech] Graphics Card Problems

Hi all,
Hoped I'd never have to resort to the technical hive mind around here, but over the past day or so, it appears my graphics card (8800gt) has developed a problem, which has been causing bsods / now preventing me from booting.
This is a screenshot of what happens when it starts to boot:
Linky
It only seems to appear on certain screens, ie throughout the bios, but not on the Windows loading screen. When it did allow me to get to log into windows, it then messed up the colours on the graphics before bsod'ding. It also happens on both screens, so fairly sure it's not a bad connection somewhere.
The BSOD I get is 0x116 (Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed) in nvlddmkm.sys
I've taken the card out and given it a quick dust, but to no avail.
I can't think of anything I've done in the last week that could cause anything like this, apart from general wear and tear (bad, as it's only a tad over a year old).
At some point I'll try swapping the card out to double check that its not something on the mobo, but I haven't got a spare handy.
Any suggestions / troubleshooting / further questions etc thankfully recieved!!!!
Thankee!!!! :)

Is your graphics card running at a sensible temperature?

More a case of WAS it running at a sensible temperature... If it has overheated then any damage may already have been done...

I find most GFX cards nowadays tend to work at around 70-80 degrees, did you notice anything out of the ordinary?

It looks to me like some (but only one or two) of your ramsinks is not doing its job and specific memory modules are overheating and starting to corrupt.

I've seen that before on a very old voodoo 3 a long time ago when one of my ramsinks was not making a good thermal connection.

It could be something else of course but thats my thoughts as of this moment.

Annoyingly, I haven't been monitoring the temperature on a regular basis, but going by the fact that it's working happily this morning after having been off overnight, I'm looking towards it being a temperature problem
Hopefully the dust-off I gave it yesterday will keep it from causing any immediate problems.
I know it used to run at a tad over 80 degrees , so I shall start monitoring the temperature again and see what it looks like
Cheers all! :D
