Hello, everyone,
As some of you already know, Spork Master is rank 2 in the guild, same as T-Bone's rank and just below Lithy's. It used to be called Executor, but the Powers That Be wanted to pay tribute to xkcd. Or something.
Anyway, I be a new Spork Master in the guild, and my shiny new role is Guild Councilor and Officer PR. ("New" is not entirely accurate. This promotion happened in the first week of the month, but it's taken me this long to decide what I need to do a good job and to realise that one of the things I need is to do this announcement. )
So basically, this post is to let you all know that I'm your new go-to support guy.
What does that mean
That means that any time you habve a problem, any problem, and I do mean any problem whatsoever, you can talk to me about it.
Now, I'm not promissing solutions, mind you, mostly because, let's face it, most of that stuff, I don't really know anything about it. But, I do promise to:
"But, you're never around. You're not even 80, yet."
True, I don't log on nearly as much as some of you do. However, I check these forums regularly, several times a day, in fact, and I always keep current on my Private Messages. So send me one, whenever you need to or want to.
Also, in-game mail works really well too.
The one thing I ask you is that you not assume that /w is the only way to go. In fact, if your problem is serious enough to think about (and it almost always is), then it's likely serious enough to write about, in a PM or an in-game mail.
"Sheesh, it's just a game, what's with all the drama."
I don't buy the "it's just a game" attitude. This guild is about a lot more than just the game. It's about people and their relationship to each other. These aren't just people I quest with, they're people I call my mates, and some of them, I even go as far as calling them friends.
I'd like nothing better than to include you all in that list, by the way.
And who said games aren't important, anyway? Playing games, any games, enobles us, makes us more human. Show a person that plays no games whatsoever, and I'll show you a deeply unhappy person!
No, this is not more important than your family. No, this is not more important than your love life. And no, whatever your take on such matters may be, this is definitely not more important than your spiritual life. But, it has its own importance, nonetheless, and while it is indeed a game, dismissiveness is not the most productive of attitudes.
So, now you know, and you have access. And hey, it's free! So, no excuses, any more, 'kay?
Cheers,
J.

What does that mean
That means that any time you habve a problem, any problem, and I do mean any problem whatsoever, you can talk to me about it.
- If you have a problem with mods, you can talk to me about it.
- If you have a problem with alts, you can talk to me about it.
- If you have a problem with an officer, you can talk to me about it.
- If you have a problem with the Guild Master, you can talk to me about it.
- If you have a jackass of a boss at work, you can talk to me about it.
- If you have a personal health problem, you can talk to me about it.
- And if lately, you've found yourself wondering about the afterlife, you can talk to me about it.
Now, I'm not promissing solutions, mind you, mostly because, let's face it, most of that stuff, I don't really know anything about it. But, I do promise to:
- Take you seriously.
- Not judge you.
- Not take sides.
- Give you my best advice, whenever appropriate.
- Take it up with the Guild Master and other Officers, whenever appropriate.
- Not take it personally ever, even if (and especially if) it's about me.
- Try my best hand at an equitable solution, if and when appropriate.
