Guild perks

Hmmm all looks pretty good to me , but LOTS of room for favourtisim, i think some of the more out spoken members of a guild will get fucked over with the guild rep/level thingie where as the ass kissers might get fast tracked to better levels/rep... will all depend how the rep is given out, eg automatic or guild master, but we will see

Isn't this how ranks are assigned anyway? :p

Correct me if I am wrong but from my understanding you are not assigned these perks from a member/officer/GM.
You earn them from increasing your reputation (similar to faction reputations) from participating in guild events or helping a guild member with crafting items etc. Once you have high enough reputation with the guild you are then automatically able to benefit from the guild perks.

From the sounds of it, the reputation is an automated thing based on contribution, but I could be wrong.

If it is assigned with any degree of control, it could just be a simple matter of letting anyone get really basic stuff (like the tabbard), and only letting people who've been around for more than a few days and haven't made me want to kill them get at the shinier things.

If it's automated, then... well, people who don't just idle in a city all day will get shiny things, which is pretty much how it's always been for the game, just applying to the new guild stuff as well.

Don't hold me to it, but I think the benefit of guild perks from leveling apply to the entire guild regardless of rank and reputation.

Yup but what i was saying is ,who gives the guild rep out for these things (helping out and crafting things) would it be a guild member or an automated thing?

Both, for i am a sexual automaton/conquistador.

I knew it!

But on a serious note; it would be awesome to be able to get these guild levels, some of the stuff you can get looks really awesome.

Also, I don't think individual rep with the guild affects which guild perks apply to you. For instance, you can have just joined the guild as a raider, and still be... mass resurrected for instance, or get the extra 10% heroism points.

I'll join a guild when I'm next in beta, and see what I can do with this.

Will be some arguments about this in a "Multi-Playstyle-guild" like The Haven, honestly.

As I see it, you have PVP'ers, PVE'ers and Casualers (Who do both on roughly the same amount.) so it will be rather tough to balance It out.

But at the same time, I'm assuming earning guild levels and rep is all based in taking part in things together.

For instance, PvP'ing premade style, or doing raids.

So surely with such a "Multi-Style" guild, we'll just carry on doing what we do, which is just to play our casual way, and it'll benefit all of us in the same way?

Sorry, I was talking about the Perks. :)

There are some that match PVP only, and some that match PVE only (Monies from killing mobs or..extra honor I think I saw there?)

Well, we get them all in the end (I assume), as it seems that we just level up through them. So there shouldn't be any 'arguments' as such over it. Instead, I imagine it'll be quite the opposite. More people going "DO PREMADES. NAOW."

And other people going. "HEROIX. NAOW."

I guess if the aim is to bring a guild together, and make them more inclined to interact, it might just work, because of the eventually mutual benefits.

Yeah. I would personally say for "Multi-Guilds" going for the Perks that benifit both would be best, instead of going for "Extra Badges" and "Another PVE only thing". ^.^

You don't have to choose anyway; all perks become available as the guild levels up....

Right. We all participate towards the levelling of the guild, or so this says.

What I think it also tries to say is that either we just gain the perk, the 'guild' as such doesn't have to buy it, or, that when the guild reaches a certain level, we individually can buy those perks for ourselves.

Either way, I don't think it's designed that there will be dispute.

[Response] Guild perks

Right. From what I could understand by reading the piece on MMO-C:
The Guild Perks thing seems to be acting under the same manner as binding yourself to work for any of the factions at the Argent Tournament grounds, only slightly more advanced.

Complete a guild achievement or contribute to the guild in any manner "within the requirements stated on the list) seems to then earn you the points within the guild to then unlock new items/functions/whatever when you have enough points for a "level-up" within the guild itself.

The short version: Complete the requirements for each "level" and your "reputation" will go up. Enough "reputation points" will unlock the next step where function(s)/item(s) can be bought for cash, etc.

Feel free to correct me if I missed anything here.
(Judgement was based on what I could see there and how the faction-based rep-level for shops/rewards tend to work)

Really? The feel I was getting from that video was you could only choose 2..

Try watching the video with your eyes open next time? He showed the full list of 25. One perk per level, in a set order.

They abolished the idea of guild talent trees a fair while back (like... 3-4 months now?), precisely because the entire choice being in the hands of the guild master meaning that potentially he could do something that only part of the guild would like, and that it might mean some players would bounce around from guild to guild, trying to find the talent build they liked. This way, the talents there are in a set progression order, and the ones the guild has is purely dictated by level, nothing else.
