Half Life 2: Episode 3 and beyond

Episode 3 isn't going to be the end of the HL series. I know, I know, woohoo more Half Life. But actually, boo more Half Life. I'm starting to see the HL series becoming a never ending series of 10 hour games that never really get to any point of anything. I hope that they at least make HL3 as different as HL2 was to HL1. A continuation of the HL universe is good. A continuation of the combine fight is not.

But then, I'm gonna bet that Valve aren't gonna give up something which is obviously making them lots of money. I just hope they don't turn into another giant EA-like entity while doing it...

I am in a WEIRD mood, so this post may make little sense! Oh well. Enjoy the rumour mill.

At least that was an ending. I got to the end of Ep1 and was waiting for the next level to load - the story just cut out part way through. I had to play it through again before I realised that actually was the "end" of it.

i would still only class it as a 40% ending...its just like any other ending like....most series games (not including stuff like CoD etc where its based on RL events) Halo for example...ending for halo 3 was crap....

My girlfriend finished portal yesterday. *sigh*

she also forgot that the space key made you jump, so kept running into goo. only when i started moaning at her, did i realise she wasnt actually jumping. *sigh*

anyhoo - back on topic.

I recently finished half life 2: episode 1 ( yea, shush, im behind the times, but now i have a decent computer to play things on im doing a lot more!). And i agree that the ending was a bit.... mneh. kinda.... i dunno cuttyoutyhalway--y.

and as yahtzee so well puts: hl2ep2 is the middle child - has no real beginning and no real end, so when i play it im going to be a bit dubious about when its going to end.

i agree that they should try to veer away from the combine, as ... to be honest, theyre starting to get a tad tedious. although i am looking forward to the "yay, physics engine - lets do a see saw!" thing ;-) heh.

Id like to see the continuation on the portal series though

and with HL seeing as the headcrab malarky is helped along by the combine..they should stay in the game..but..maybe a lesser presence?

also..i would like to see them bring out a HL:O (oppisite) where you control someone from the combine

I loved the 1st half life, i thort the story was amazing, then Opposing force came out and the tip of my bell went wet, i liked how the storys sort of crossed (you get a brief glimpse of the free man jumping into a portal) but finding members of your force was a big relief so you wernt fighting mass aliens alone (or they die or make you carry on alone).

I even enjoyed blue shift, even if it was short.

I couldn't realy care about the combine, i wanted to see what happened with all the aliens and soldiers and those people dressed in black that do flips.

i would love a new game about black mesa.
