Half-Life 3's G-Man.

Here is a concept of what Half-Life 3's G-Man might look like.

Let the discussion begin. The weird thing for me is that when you see it beside the Half-Life 2 G-Man, which looked so good, it now looks so crappy.

I like the new one, only problem is soon video games are going to start ebing able to be comparable to real life, at which point (for a while at least) they will then start looking shit as the standard of comparisson has changed

How can you say that looks shit?

Ok he's lost his sinister edge but that can easily be rectified by thinning his face (he looks like he's eaten a few pies since HL2). He also looks like he's rather tired.

Perhaps this is the look Valve are going for?

Weakness is starting to show through. Maybe he's not the all powerful mastermind figue we all took him for and is actually just a poor business manager who is getting tired from the stress of trying to control his product (ie Gordon Freeman)?

Who knows? :D

I personally think he looks great. They've sidestepped the real life comparison issue for the moment by giving him extra character (his eyes look larger then real life).

BTW isn't there a name for that effect Vibroaxe? Its a well know phenomenon in 3d modelling and animation.

Hmm...

I think before they even start with amping his polygons they need to fix his dialogue

speak man dont right

(im joking :D)

on a more serious note i prefered the old slightly sinister hl2 gman, this one lookes like he gets beaten with books by his wife

His tired looks may have something to do with the story, the spoiler below is completely speculation by what the story could be by the public so read it if you want.
(I'm not sure but was this discussed long ago as well?)

G-Man is infact Gordon Freeman, who has come back in time to help himself get through the fight, hence why he always convenietly appears at difficult times.
And it's supposed to be G-Man as in Gordon-Man, or so they say.
