Halo 3 pencilled in for early September release

Apparently, Microsoft want to get the jump on their market rivals by releasing Halo 3 before the busy holiday season. All I care about is Halo 3 is coming out sooner. Hooray!

Halo 3 Reviewed at IGN!!!

I've not read it yet myself, I'd rather play it first and form my own opinion, but I can't resist taking a little peek ...

EDIT: Yeah, ok, I read it. It's disappointing what they're saying about the single player, but I think you could really only apply that to Halo veterans (although, I have played co-op campaign on KCs old 'box. Loved it.), so I'm expecting to find it a bit more pleasant than the reviewer. On the plus side though, I'm really happy I renewed my Live gold account - the multiplayer mode sounds like all that.
I was a little surprised myself that it attained a score of 9.5 after what they said in the main review, I was expecting an 8 maybe, and it doesn't seem like they've taken people with silver accounts into consideration who can't enjoy the multiplayer, but thats for other people to worry about. Pia, see you on the battlefield

In short, Gamespot gives it a score of 9.5. That'd rate it alongside Gears of War. Gamespot are also very short on criticism in their brief summary, picking mainly on the AI's driving ability (in that it sucks).
