Just thought I'd create a thread to ask ppls opinions on the last of the Harry's.
I'm not going to write any intricate stuff at this stage because a lot of ppl won't have read it and even if its in spoilers its always tempting to have a look.

I personally loved it, I'm a big HP fan and I felt the series was ended very well.

A quick point on this, If you don't like HP and thus haven't read the books, don't just bad mouth HP as I know a few ppl might want to do. I'm not interested, if you haven't read it then don't say anything.

looking forward to ppls opinions on this.

I loved it, thought it was a really good ending the series.

My only disappointment was how well the community guessed what was going to happen, I thought JK might have a completly unguessed twist in it, but As far as I know each of the major arcs within it had been suggested already.

Nonetheless it was still an awsome guess I just hoped that JK had outsmarted the communities :P

I read the first book! It bored me to death (I'm feeling better) and I just couldn't stand the others.

HA! I told you I read the first one! :D

Still, I understand some people love it, and I heard the HP7 is the best selling book (selling 15million copies in one day), and that's pretty bloody good.

Dood, when Snape was all like "Harry, I am your father.", I was like ZOMG!, you got in there with Lily? Now it all makes sense! That's why he was going to Slytherin and thats why he was so hard on him, genius!

And then when Neville and McGonagall got it on, I flipped, JK your twists rock!

Ha, and as for Voldermort trying to get a job as a Zoo Keeper 19 years later, yeah woteva!

Weirdly after joking about this, I now have bought the book.

Was getting some other stuff in tesco's last night and it was there as an offer as hardback for a £5 and I thought what the hell.

Found it hard to put it down last night in fact want to read some more now :D.

Yeah I'm a huge huge H.P. Fan, and I thought the book was excellent. I thought the ending could've been a little bit more detailed if you know what I mean. As in she didn't really explain what any of the other characters went on to do.

JK Rowling was rumored last year to be busy committing literary manslaughter, dropping hints in hopes that her loyal fans will be forewarned that young wizards are not immortal and that a character (or two!) could meet their Wizard Maker in the final book, "The Deathly Hollows".

Hold on -- now the author says on her website: "I might do an eighth book for charity - a kind of encyclopedia of the world, so that I could use all the extra material that's not in the books."

Rowling says an eighth book would allow fans a further insight into the world of Harry Potter and his friends, including details that were not included in the best-selling novels.

She has already penned two Harry Potter reference books - 'Quidditch Through The Ages' and 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them'. The books raised more than £15 million for the British charity Comic Relief.

I know she says she won't write an eight book, but I think she might for charity or something, however if she does I feel it wouldn't be like most of the H.P. books and It would tend to focus on alot of the other characters.

Just out of interest what would all your feelings be if you she brought out an 8th book? I know alot of people would be disappointed and think that she should have left it there.

Her line which I believe will be stuck to is that for the time being that world is going to be left alone. She has said that maybe in ten yrs or so she may come back to the world but the story will have to be very different as I think its fairly clear that Harry's story is over. I thought the ending was done superbly and I think anything more would spoil it.

I agree bob, after that ending it would seem odd to carry on the story any further. Something along a similar line as quidditich through the ages I agree would be interesting, but not another "story"

Read it a few days ago and have to say its quite good. Definately gets you into the story quite quickly. I had seen all the spoilers on the internets before it was "released", but it didnt really change much. Its completely diff knowing the main events in teh story in a summarised list, and actually reading them in proper sentences.

Still thought the bit with ron walking in on harry at the burrow was fucking hilarious :p. but im cruel like that. heh.

Although the whole HP series has been quite unordered for me.

saw film 3
saw film 2
saw film 1
read books 1 > 5
saw film 4
read book 7
am going to see film 5 on saturday at the imax in london :)D)
starting to read book 6.

Tis the same as when i saw shrek 2 before shrek 1! *sigh*

Finished it on Friday or so, enjoyed it. Had a much darker feel than the initial books, but not much more so than the previous two. I agree with Fury, it was difficult to put down in places as there was so much happening in the plot it was important to find out what would happen.

All in all, a thumbs up. :)
