Heavy Rain, PS3, request

According to Eurogamer, Heavy Rain will be released exclusively for PS3 on 26 February.

Problem is that I don't have a PS3.

Are there any THNers (probably those in the south of the UK, near Southampton or Bristol would be even better) who would lend me their PS3 for 6-8 weeks from late February so I can play this? I'd give you the game afterwards as a sort of compensation. I can come to collect.

(Yep, cheeky, I realise, but to buy a PS3 just for one game would make this the most expensive game ever.)

hahahaha

You know the ps3 is a pretty nice machine to have, if you have a big HD telly anyways.

Blu ray, streaming, it ain't just games.
Speaking of which though, FFXIII is gonna be miles better on ps3 than the xbox port.

Or do you have no monies? :(

I have no monies, really. And no HDTV (though I have a decent Dell 24" monitor). And really no need for Blu Ray. So all I really need it for is a game. Just the one. There are a small number of other games that, if I had money to burn, I'd probably look at on the PS3 (e.g. Little Big Planet) but none are compelling enough for the £200+ outlay.

But... I'm kind of aware that a number of people bought a PS3 but then never used it really. Just being hopeful. :)

Man I hate Final Fantasy.

Ronin, I'm getting close to the point that I might cough up for a ps3, as it now has enough good games (at least 4) that i'd want one. When i say close, I actually mean over the next year or so.

Heavy rain looks excellent though.

I was really hoping they were going to release this for pc though.

Bit of an odd question, but does anyone know what happened to Alan Wake?

Good luck on finding the PS3 ronin, borrowing it is for the best in my opinion. I know a friend down here who was trying to sell his PS3, dont know if he shifted it yet but if not i'll ask if you could borrow it.

Thank god it isnt just games or it'd be a monumental failure rather than sony's unloved son. The games are the weakest link in its chain by far.

Nooo ski dont buy the paperweight! Buy yourself a decent screen first you need that more. You already have that x-box and wii you dont play to hold down all your lose paper.

Ronin, why don't you just rent one from Blockbuster? My mate used to rent consoles all the time. They might still do it. Worth checking anyway...

I wasn't even aware of this console rental thing. Suppose it very much depends on their rates (and where my nearest Blockbuster is...).

Hmm, having browsed Blockbuster's site I can't see any mention of hardware rentals, nor do they even appear to sell the PS3 itself (though they do sell extra controllers and such).

That said, I do wonder what the depreciation on a well kept, lightly used PS3 would be? I could possibly afford the outlay on a console on a temporary basis and then resell on Amazon Marketplace or eBay or something.

Phone them up and ask. There's one near Waitrose in Portswood. Worth the price of a phone call IMO, even if they no longer rent full console set ups.
