Heya guys and galls,

got a problem when installing the patch. I downloaded it as normal but when I want to instal the patch it tells me at 49% ish (after 1 hour) that I do not have sufficient disc space on my laptop. I have over 10gb of free space atm in the E:/ folder where I have my wow instalation (this is after downloading the patch) The patch is 5.1GB so I can have it double installed on my pc and still have some space left...

I can not free more disc space anymore and I tryed removing it and redownloading it but it doesnt work at all.

Anyone has a clue how to help this?

Best regards,

Nactall

You need like 20GB of free space or something silly, even though the patch is only ~5.1GB. So, freeing up some more space is really your only option :\

I read on the forums - it's converting ALL files in your WoW install, you need at least as much space as your existing WoW install for it to work.

As Huung says, that's at the very least 20GB (if not 25GB).

Ok that is what I feared. Is there a easy way to "unsplit" your drives in a easy way? I have my C:/ split up in two. And both do not have 40-50GB separatly but they have combined. and the easy way being, not having to reinstal windows.

they both have 40 Gb in theory (excluding windows and every other program I need). But I think a full client will be the easyest option I have.

Cheers Bloke didnt think of that.

I went through hell and back while trying to install the patch myself... Now to make this post worth reading, bring down you WoW folder to a minimum, which currently is ~16 GB and from then, you still need 20+ GB free HD space to install the patch even though my WoW folder after the installation is only 27 GB

Hoy, :)

Another option is to check your WoW folder to see if the old patch downloaders and installers are still milling about. I know Belfer was able to clear several gigs' worth of disk space last night.

Basically, anything that predates 3.3.3 is safe to delete.

J.

I had the same problem, solved it by freeing up triple the space required for the actual patch.

Hey ..

Had the same issue your currently having .. i found the way around it was through un-installing the whole game then installing through the link that was posted by a blue moderator in this page (link as follows)
http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=14870030202&sid=1

I then downloaded the following file ..

https://eu.battle.net/account/downloads/WoW-4.0.0-WOW-enGB-Installer.exe

Which can be found on the first link if you don't trust mine...after downloading the link I just ran it and left it to itself after I click the necessary 'yes/I agree' buttons.

After doing this, my wow folder is currently sitting at 22gb rather than the 27gb I believe Sasser said his was taking up ...

The link I added is the one that allows for the game to effectively stream itself whilst your playing, so whilst you may not be able to raid or do heroics it may give you some time to get used to the feel of it, provided your connection is a stable and a fast one.

Hope this helps

Yea you're right mate, that was including the 5.30 GB worth of files still lingering in my Updates folder
