[i37] Getting there by car!

So, one thing we have found from experience of going to Stoneleigh the last time we were there is that map/direction services and satnavs will direct you to Stoneleigh from wherever you are perfectly fine, except that the entrance to the place that it directs you to is closed and you have to actually enter from the opposite side of the venue.

So, with handy google maps links, I shall demonstrate where you actually need to go, and where it directs you to first.

If you can't see the maps, then to cut a long story short, they will direct you to the western entrance of Stonelegh Park, residing on the B4115. This is incorrect and you actually need to enter from the East side, on the B4113.

The google maps links below show the directions going from the A46 just as you leave J15 of the M40, which will be the way anyone coming from the South would be coming to the event.

This is where satnavs and the like will direct you to - This is INCORRECT.

This is where you actually NEED to go - if you zoom in on point B of this map then you will see a road heading west, this is the road you need to go down when you enter stoneleigh. There will then be various parking attendants that will direct you to where you can leave your car :)

Even if you aren't coming in from the south, you should still be able to adapt your route plan to suit these instructions...

Also, can you park up next to where you want to pitch the tent & leave car there?

Yea I would like to do that to, but then how difficult would it be to move your car, if say, you wanted to go to the nearest tescos and get extra cheesecake?

They have a shop full of sweets; not planning on leaving the site unless I really have to :p
Depends how far the parking is from the camp site..

ha speak for yourself darling, I'm a cheap a$$ and their sweets will be pricey :/ also I was more thinking about things like ice, than cheesecake. I just used the word cheese cake as a lure, to see if you would notice this conversation. Worked too ;)

I'll be heading off site. Probably daily. So I may take a posse with me to round up fruit and vegetables (and cheesecake, if so required).
