[i43] Accommodation - Hotels

I've got a reservation at the holiday inn at the international centre for i43 from the thurs > monday.

The room ive got booked is a 2 x double bed room, so thought id throw it out there to see if anyone did want to hotel it on the 2nd double bed rather than tenting.

Firstly: price - it would be £120 for the 4 nights if its just one person or if you dont mind spooning, then two of you can share either side of a double bed, and cut it down to £60.

Secondly: information on the hotel is here: http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/us/en/telford/teluk/hoteldetail. The room will have a bath/shower ensuite, and you also (As far as i can tell), have access to the swimming pool and stuff there too.

The price doesnt include breakfast as I thought that foodage over that weekend will probably be all over the place anyway ;-)

Depending on what time I manage to check in, i was going to try and get a room along the end of the coridoor, so there should be less noise of people walking past rooms.

Let me know in here or in PM if you're interested :)

I'm interested, don't mind sharing, though I think holidayinn get a bit uppity if more than 2 people are in a room...

well its a room big enough for 4 people, but that price is only for 2 people. If you want to be honest, and want an extra key each then they charge £10 pppd, which would make it £80 per person.

If people are going to be going to bed at random times, id definitely recommend this. I'm not going to be lending someone else my key, and will not be happy if woken up to let someone in at night :p so ill make that rule now :p

I've had offers from 3 people now so you can fight amongst yourselves as to how you want to do it, whether just one person, at £120, or 2 people at £80, or if you want to spoon me, then three people at £80

:)

To confuse matters even more, I have a second reservation at the international hotel next door / closer to the main venue too for a single double room. £210 for 2 people.

That rate, however, has the advantage that it has breakfast included if you want to have something fresh without having to worry about getting milk or stuff for cereal (Assuming its just a standard continental breakfast with cereals / pastries / juice / toast etc...), and you are only sharing the room between two of you, rather than more if we have more in the holiday inn version.

If there are 2 of you who would prefer a room which isnt shared with me, then I can see about transferring that reservation across to you if you prefer :) Thought I'd throw that out there anyway since ive got it reserved atm, rather than just cancelling it for someone else to get.

What does "single double room" mean?

1 x double bed = sleeps 2 people

compared to the holiday in which is a double double room (..... *sigh*)

2 x double bed = sleeps 4 people

I know, the whole "single" / "double" when talking about *number* of beds, not size of beds is silly :p

wel mk1 + ghost are interested in the spare bed at the holiday inn, pending payment. So if anyone wants that one + access to swimming pool, then you have to get money to me sooner than them :p

Still got the room at the international if 2 people want to share that one. Let me know if you're interseted in that.

first come first serve applies etc...

Whats wrong with paying you on the day?

Because that means you can pull out a few days before and leave me with a £240 bill to pay, or having to find someone at last minute!

In the same way that extra charges for clanboxes would have been prepay, and in the same way that you reserve your ticket for i43 by paying for it beforehand.

In my past experience of organising events, getting people to pay up for things after theyve happened is a pain in the ass, so im basically going to be treating it as "whoever gets their money in first gets the bed".

:)

Strike that, i can think of 1 situation where you'd be left in the lerch, but that one is completely out of my hands (My transport turns around and says hes no car :(). So, PM me with how to pay.
