Now, I'm just found Imeem which is a social networking site (pfft) that lets you share media like videos and music. The cool thing being that Warner and Sony/BMG (with EMI and Vivendi Universal being in talks) have let the site host all of their copyrighted materials (which a few exceptions, eg, The Beatles stuff) for a cut in the website's advertising revenue! WikiKnowItAll links for all.
Now, when I saw this, the first thing I thought was, "FINALLY!". Seriously. Finally the music industry bigwigs have found a way to make money from their music, while (and this is the big important thing from my point of view) let the users have what they want (free downloads from the internet) without being in-your-face about it.
Some songs (due to deals not yet being signed, etc.) are only shown as 30 second previews under the Fair Usage policy, blah blah, but still. I am currently listening to the full version of Red Hot Chilli Peppers - The Zephyr Song. And it's good!
You have to be signed in to listen to the full version of the songs (as far as I can tell), but meh. I can block their spam if need be. Free music.
