On my regular news browsing I found this interesting story which highlights how lax security in many firms really is. However, does this mean that they should automatically restrict access to all USB devices for all users?

What are your thoughts and general musings on information security given the rise of our information-swapping culture?

Protect the servers and network at all costs - store ALL critical data on the Servers. Use encryption where possible.

Follow those rules and you are largely protected as a company - people will continue to lose laptops and download dodgy files to infect their machines but ultimately if you follow the above then there is limited harm that can be done to the company as a whole.
