Awesome Insurgency games this evening. I believe I saw all of pHatBambi, Pubic Warrior and Big D out there and we made some friends, GKiller and a mate of his (I forget the name). Loads of in-game comms, mainly playing as the US. If only I could have crashed less it would have been even more awesome. :)

We started out on Almaden (the one with the mosque), defending as Insurgents but rapidly ended up switching to US. Much more of a challenge. We took the alpha objective once, I think, but kept getting bogged down or ambushed by Insurgents rushing behind us and mopping us up; with them having infinite respawns, they know they can die and not worry about it. With the US on limited spawns (6?), every death counts. Still, we were getting good at pushing through the showers on the right, just couldn't turn it into anything. More practice!

Then we were playing as US on [strike]Haditha[/strike] Sinjar (the wide open one where the US start in a quarry and have to push uphill) and that was probably our best playing, 'specially as we won (okay, we outnumbered them, but their job was easier!) If only the US support weapon could be reloaded (that's a bug) then we'd really pwn them. :D Lots of "sniper on the bridge", "smoking", "clear, move up" coming in over VOIP. Well cool! :)

Ah, this is what I like about small squad teamplay games; one of the big things I play for.

Thanks for the games, guys. Looking forward to many more!

On the contrary, I got super frustrated and left after two rounds... :(

I'll give it another chance or two this weekend.

It seemed to be just poor luck, no matter what I did I was never alive for more than 30 seconds or so.

It was especially maddening when I would be moving with the team and get picked off from the middle of the pack with one shot...

Edit: Gave it another try and had a much more enjoyable time, even if my teammates had no idea what the word team means. ;)

Yea last night was really good, exept when i first joined the game in was an insurgant, however you guys we US and i could hear your ingame comms it kept poppin up n sayin who was speakin, so i knew you were in the showers the whole time :D

there are 2 different squads however hard to find your squad so comms are important,

Gkiller was good at commanding, scarlet pimp is my cuz and im tryed to get him to join THN coz he is into his PR an d INS but dusnt have a clan anymore to fight properly as a team. Get GKiller to join THN we need some INS players to combat the WoWers lol

overall an entertaining evening and i hope its followed by many more (even getting alot of people to join and maybe start a clan and rise up as we once did in the BF2 days)

Are you guys gonna be about tonight, I was going to get on and play but i had to go to a concert my sister was doing so i couldn't make it, hopefully I'll be about tonight.
I'm starting to really like the shotgun in INS as at range I'm continuously getting owned by unknowns assailants but close up I'm fairly fatal. Its odd this is the first game that i actually prefer the face to face stuff, i normally like to sit at range and out shot ppl.

I'll be about tonight for some games.

I thoroughly enjoyed last nights matches.

It's very hard work as the US and I think that maybe the Insurgents/maps are a little imbalanced for random play. I found it very frustrating that there were limited routes to objectives on Almanden which makes you bottleneck. Combine this with one sides infinite respawn and it's pretty much impossible to push past an organised defence.

The second map was better as the open space meant that it was harder to be bottlenecked and there were a few opportunities on the map to move to flanking positions.

It's a very confusing game to begin with as some of the maps don't have immediately obvious landmarks. Combine this with the brutal nature of the one shot kills means the first hour is a bit painful (no more then PR though).

Teamwork is the best route to success but it's difficult with players you don't know. That said it only takes a couple of willing hands to get the squads working. One thing that I would like to see is some way of determining your squad members and squad leaders. It's very hard to work out who you're fighting with and who you can trust to cover your arse.

More games please.

:D
