Hey,

As some of you may know im the lil bro of Hunng and ever since he came home from uni he hasn't shut up about me getting WoW again.
so i've decided to start up again, so i installed the orginal and then Burning but i don't have litch king and now every time i go into WoW to play it it want me to install the new patches for litch king and then fails when it finds i dont have it.

so i was wondering if any of you guys have any idea on how to get around this annoying problem.

PS its my 18th tomorrow so if worst comes to worst then i'll buy Litch king then lol :D

thanks, V

If your PC hasn't got the patch files on it, shouldn't the client just go download them?

What's your internet speed like?

It's easy / fast / simple to download the full client from official wow eu site.

So one idea might be comlpetely remove and start again, downloading the vanilla and TBC clients.

It's getting stuck on patches 3+ as he doesn't actually have Wrath on his account, only up to TBC. Thus when he goes to launch the game, it tries to patch to the latest stuff, which would be Wrath, but then fails as he doesn't have it :p
Is there a way of playing without Wrath? I'm sure there must be, but I personally have no idea about it, so told him to come to you guys :)

As far as I know, there should be no need to have Wrath on your account in order to play and patch the game. However, if you've got the Wrath discs lying around, you could just install Wrath; You can play without a Wrath acc on a Wrath install.

Hey, :)

I know someone who's been playing the game without even having TBC, so you should be fine on that front. Furthermore, the client verifies the patching version before you log on, so it has no way of knowing whether the "account" has WotLK or not...

My best bet would be to just uninstall and do a clean installation, painful as the patch download speed may be...

Cheers,
J.
