Intel processors

www.overclockers.co.uk, now have these available to pre-order.

Intel duo 2 at 2.67GHz, 1333Mhz FSB - £147,

not bad considering only 10 months ago it was £411 for equivalent duo 2 chip only with 1066MHz FSB.

And the prices of quad core chips starting at £243 for 2.4GHz that were over £500 just 10 months ago really goes to show that you can buy a stompingly fast machine even with a modest budget nowadays.

Well done Intel!

I'm not technically savvy motherboard-wise, but would that processor work with this motherboard?

My friend was right!

A friend of a friend works for Intel in the UK and said that there would bea major price cut towards the end of June... Looks like it's happened. Kind of silently too!

But seriously, only 1 month ago I came up with a list of components on ebuyer.com including a Radeon HD 2900XT and a 22" Widescreen monitor with HDMI and an I2CD E6600 which came to £1061.

I saved that list and went back to it yesterday. The price is now £923.
