Interest check : The Haven Net Mug!

Hi Folks,

I work for a promotional products company - we put your brand/company name on 'stuff' - and want to see if people are interested in getting some "The Haven Net" merchandise.

The idea is to cover all of THN as a gaming community/network rather than one specific game title.
The design can be discussed but, to keep costs down, should be based on a 1 colour print and so be relatively simple.

I can always get a good price on mugs so this would be my first suggestion.

I could get mugs done for under £2 each but would need to fulfil minimum order quantity of 72 - although, that said, I may be able to get a shorter run of, say, 50 but I'd have to pester our suppliers a bit.

Bear in mind that the £2 quoted is for the mug only and there will be P&P costs on top (estimate about £2-3 with the box & post) so final price will be closer to £5 if you wanted it posting.
Also I'd have to get the money up front to actually pay for them (I are not rich).

Pretty much the cheapest mug is the Sparta mug. It's a good solid mug and probably our biggest seller and I'm pretty sure I can arrange for a significant discount.

This is really just an interest check to see how many people would be interested in a special "The Haven" mug so please cast your vote.

Nice idea, may go down better if you can get something that represents the whole of the [THN] identity, rather than just the WoW guild. Since the guild tabard is based on the black and white tree logo, that would be a good starting point.

Yeah, I did say the tabard was purely a starting point and that something else might be better.
The Haven Tree is a great idea.

Perhaps if we can in some way encompass all of THN at this time, so perhaps something relating to BC2, WoW, EVE and TF2 (as the main 4 games I think most THNers are playing at this point) all on one mug (though I guess something like that would get very busy) might be worth considering?

There is certainly a large contingent of EVE players that *may* well be interested were it to mention something about NERF (the name of our EVE alliance).

Is this going to be orientated towards a specific game in the community, i can say i'd be interested too if its either all* games or no games

Agree totally, make this a [THN] thing and you'll get a lot more interest. Also if we could pimp the URL on the mug then we may even get a few new folks through this. As it is voting no for the guild only but would vote yes if it was THN.

I want to make this clear as there seems to be some confusion.

The poll is for whether or not you would pay for a "The Haven Net" mug.
This is not intended to be game specific but for a gaming community.

I only used the WoW guild tabard as an example because I didn't know of anything else and we needed a starting point for discussions.

Artwork can be finalised later but, yes, I feel it should cover us as a gaming guild, not just World of Warcraft.
I has already been commented that there is a "THN tree", which sounds good to me.
If anyone has a sample of this, can you link, post, pm me a copy and then I can get some mock-ups done.

Perhaps edit the name of the thread to add "net" i notice alot of people who've polled yes are part of, i presume, either eve or wow contingents of thn.

Yes, although I am WoW player this is for us as a community which is why I posted it in the chat box forum and not the WoW forum.

I have removed mention of the WoW guild tabard as that seemed to be confusing people. I merely offered that as a suggestion failing anything else I knew about at that time.

I even stated in the original post that it was for "The Haven Net" meaning everyone.

There's been some good, positive response so far but we need to be sure of filling the numbers. There's no real rush on this and the poll is open for 30 days so word can get around.

Please tell all THN members in the games you play to come make a vote (for yes!)

I think in terms of getting 72 people (or even 50 tbh) we'd be struggling. The vast majority of the active people on this forum have already now voted.
