Hey, :)

The guild is going through its usual pre-expansion blues. This happened a great deal in the months preceding Cataclysm, and it happened to a lesser extent in the few weeks preceding Wrath.

Whether the group will recover from the sudden onset of kung-fu pandas is another question altogether... :D

Cheers,
J.

Yes it's quiet here but at least it is, albeit only marginally, more active than the Rift section :p

We needs more raiders! there's still content to see, bosses to kill, gear to ninja etc :)

I'm ere

Started playing again but only to discover my main was kicked from ze guild. Lost revered guild rep. Kinda cba now. I mean at least Bemused was kept in, but Richel had heaps more rep from PvP.

I'm always around forums, be nice if someone had asked what the bare minimum chars are I'd want in guild, as I always intended to return at some point, for next expansion if not sooner.

No. Your main was kept in. Alts that were several months idle were kicked.

If you wanted your main changed, we needed to know.

The guild has about 300 characters in about 100 distinct accounts. It needs to be kept under control, and every so often, stuff happens...

In better news, you can try to get your character back in. I understand that, if you never get into another guild, there's a time window in which you can get your rep back if you re-join.

So, get your butt back in the game and get a ginvite and see if it works. :)

Cheers,
J.

Richel is already back in, but lost her rep.

Might be worth putting in a GM ticket to see if it can be restored, but I wouldn't hold my breath; WoW GMs seem to be content with doing the bare minimum required, and nothing more than that.

I'll try but doubt it'll work ;)

Not end of the world, but yeah for future ref Bemused is PvE main (as per your records), Richel PvP main. I think it's the norm to have two mains if you partake in both due to totally diff specs/gear etc? I dunno I guess I just assumed it was. :)

Not only is that not the norm, no one else has anything even remotely like that*. It's not even something I can work with or keep track of, unfortunately, due to the frankly unsophisticated guild management interface.

Basically, I set everyone's guild note to equal (or begin with) their main character's name, so that I can sort by guild note and have everyone's characters together. That way, I can see who's been around and who's been absent, and I can promote to rank, demote to Away or remove entirely, depending on time inactive.

So, yeah, one main.

Cheers,
J.

(*) For a long while, Veterans had their main and all their alts at the same guild rank, which led to confusion galore and even some abuse and conflict here and there. That situation has been rectified. Even then, though, they still only had one main character.

Heya, :)

next time I'm having a long absence I'll ask super nice if I can keep both in. ;)

:D

Thank you for being a sport. :)

Still, for you and anyone else interested in this theme, I usually start pruning alts around the three month absence mark. People that I know are away for long periods but consistently come back (like, say, Adriss), I usually stretch it out to the six month mark.

But, no matter how nice you ask or how much I like you, if you are away for more than six months, there's a high chance that your alts will be kicked.

The only exceptions to this, in honor of their long service to the guild, are Lith, because he GMed for a gazillion years, T-Bone, because he's unbreakable, and Haven, because, well, because the guild is bloody well named after him! :D

Cheers,
J.

P.S. And if, for some reason, I don't know who you are, your mains are likely to be kicked after two or three months' absence. So, if you're going to be away but plan on coming back, post on these forums about it...
