I realised when looking at the forums that it shows peoples join dates but these only go as far as Dec 2005 when these forums were set up. I was just wondering whether we could put these at any date so that it shows the actual date you joined THN like the old forums had.

Since the old forums used a different database, you'd very likely have to adjust the join dates for everyone manually. It'd be a lot of work.

What I'd probably do for this is to make a public but unedittable field (except by Admins and possibly Super Mods) that people could use to mark their "real" join date. Rather like the XFire field, but containing a date instead.

That shouldn't be too hard, actually. The real problem would be gathering and entering the data.

Ive compiled a list of all the people from the old forums who are still Active on this forum. The list is about 50 (give or take a few) strong.

Ive sent a Pm to RoninStorm with the list etc.

Edit: Ive attached the 2 halfs (was too big for one attachment) of the Old/New Memberlist to this post, So you can have a quick look and make sure your there etc.

If you are not on the list it is either

1. Ive missed you
2. You had Joined the old forums but there is no date beside your name :S.
3. You are not active on this forum (why are you reading this post :p)

In fact, I can, through the Admin CP, manually set people's join date without any hacking at all. The thing is that will have a startling impact on some people's reputation power.

Let me consider how best to do this and if I'd want to tweak the Rep system to fit.

How would that work though as there was no rep system when the old forums were up. I remember there was a points system but I take it that that worked in a completely different way.

And would that not mean that the longer someone has been a member of the forums, then the more rep power they would have?
