Having recently made a comment about freespace 2, i fancy playing it again.

Which led me to my current joystickless predicament.

Suggestions? Must be USB and have the ability to twist to barrel roll.

Logitech 3D Extreme Pro. 12 button, USB, twist to do a barrel roll fox! Exactly what you need. I used it for all flying games and it's awesome.

this ^^

I have one, it works perfectly with Freespace 2. As a side note, you should check out Freespace Open - a whole bunch of enhancements and proper widescreen support and suchlike.

I'm still making do with my several-year-old Saitek Cyborg Evo :p

Whatever stick you get, becoming second-nature with it is the bit which takes time.

You rock bloke. I love freespace 2. Its my favourite game of all time.

I was wondering how it was going to handle being installed on vista. I guess this stuff will sort out any of those kinks.

If you want all the extras it is about a 2GB download though, just to warn you...

The Number 1:

Overall, objectively, I would say System Shock 2 is the best game ever made.

Contradiction detected! Cannot compute! Circuits exploding, fizz crackle pop etc.

Anyway, on topic, I have the Saitek Cyborg 3D rumble (the predecessor to bloke's Evo, I reckon). It's perty good for an old stick, even if the design makes it a bit stiff, but the latest successor in the line looks cutting bleeding chris jericho edge.

First of all: That joystick looks violent.

Secondly, there is a difference between favourite and best. Just cause something is better, doesn't mean you like it more.

This is especially true when you have to rank completely different game types alongside each other.

To make another example:

I think that objectively, the Iron Maiden album 'A matter of life and death' is their best album - its the most consistent throughout, and also has some real crackers on it.

However it's not my favourite. That would be Killers.
