keylogger message

A little warking; this morning, I recieved a message from a char named síllek (nothe the accent) about going to a link that contains a .exe. A quick Google brought up some posts on the Blizz WoW forum about the same message and that the linkis a keylogger. So don't go to the site in that mail and maybe contact Blizzard.

Yes, I know that. But why would they choose me? I don't have the most playtime out of everyone, and I'm not of high standing within the guild. I find it alarming.

That's probably why then, I'd guess. Either they take a random member, or someone that people won't seen the name of lots (no offense intended, just if you see the Officer's name a lot, you'd probably easily spot any difference in name), or maybe even because it's a short(ish) name, and that i lookalike character is hardest to notice the difference off ingame? Especially after a couple of hours raiding, and far too much sugary drinks? I know thatbloke is stupid enough to fall for this But really, I dunno, these are all guesses, so feel free to ignore me

Silk i wont be worried if i where you, i think he chose your name because the i is next 2 the l so i guess he just picked the name that is most easy to change a little bit and not get noticed.

Nonetheless quite disturbing.

Anyways regarding this I've had a whisper in game of someone claiming to be an alt of an officer in my guild... sayin that it was their bank char and they wanted access to GB to deposit some stuff etc.... (Char of same name sent me a mail about a .exe file which by no means was I going near), Just letting ya guys know about the other issue I found in game

(Char of same name sent me a mail about a .exe file which by no means was I going near), Just letting ya guys know about the other issue I found in game

Blizzard have finally put up a warning message in their Message of the Day section of the login screen. I was getting sick of seeing this issue pop up in trade chat ever 2 hours.
