Various people have noticed over the past week or two that when they type a GB Pound sign it in fact prints as a question mark.
The problem, we believe, is because of a mixture of the database encoding and its current collation settings. No, I can't explain that further because that's right at the edge of my MySQL database knowledge.
For the moment, it's the way it is.
Unfortunately, we need to be damn sure of what we're doing before we just dive in and "fix" it because we're faced with one giant risk... let's say we switch how it is all encoded, but then it trashes all our data... that's pretty serious, yes?
Please bear with it for the time being. I suggest a workaround of typing GBP instead of the symbol. Sorry for the inconvenience.
