Laptop "Macro's"

My lappy has the "Extra" functions on the F keys (Function keys?), like F9 is Volume down, F10 is Volume up, F11 is Mute, F12 is Wireless off / on.

Is there anyway to disable / make it so you need to press the "fn" button that's next to the windows key and press them to use the "Extra" function? 'Cause when you're playing somthing, and you turn the volume up / down, and accidently hitting the Wireless off button instead (Plus whenever I press one of the buttons, whatever I'm running full screen minimises.) it gets annoying. =/

Any help would be awsome.

not necessarily. Liz's new laptop *by default* has the F keys as requiring you to hold down the Fn button, and the volume / next / prev / wireless on/off buttons are the default functions.

Makes hitting f5 for refresh a right pain in the ass.

What laptop is it?

Erm. Pass then. Best off to google the problem. I imagine many people are getting a bit annoyed by that and someone somewhere will have found some form of solution I'd hope!

Tried google, all it says is go into BIOS and look in there, or some crap about shift / CTRL etc + Fn. I don't trust meself with BIOS so I'll prob just wait till i41 and get someone to poke it then.

The bios is fairly tame provided you 1) dont randomly start smooshing buttons and 2) dont go changing stuff where you dont know what its doing!
