LED's: Serious business

Thank you again, Boston, for your consistently hilarious fear of lights.

I'd hate to see the crisis when one of their excellent police officers realizes the 'Don't Walk' signs at crosswalks have flashing lights, and are situated at major intersections throughout the city...

Errrrrr, how dumb do you have to be to walk around a US airport with a circuit board on your chest and putty?

Smells like either an attempted assisted suicide or a f**king stupid attempt to "prove" that the police are stupid. They're paid to take no risks when lives are at stake, as far as I'm concerned.

Of course it wasn't smart, and the police were right to investigate. The problem, once again, is when they overreact and start throwing "hoax device" charges around. Did you look at the thing? It was a breadboard with LED's in the shape of a star. If they had determined it wasn't a threat, let her go, and went on with their lives, no one would be any less safe and we wouldn't be discussing this right now. But, as it stands, they seem to really enjoy going that extra step to draw the spotlight to themselves, and it always makes them look like fools in the end...

That's precisely my point of view...

sure: investigate. But arrest? That's just stupid. REALLY stupid.

edit: also, and this bears repeating, imho the police are running "the terrorists" business here, keeping people afraid of stuff they really shouldn't be afraid of. Keeping them terrified, in fact. Terrorising them.

Interestingly it's not even a PCB or anything, just a breadboard, kinda impressed the components stayed in without falling out if i'm honest!
