I find the campaign in chaos rising disappointing. Compared to the original its much shorter, much easier and has less side quests.
Even the inclusion of other races feels very tacked on. There are only two Eldar missions, and the second is against the avatar (who compared to the first one is a complete and utter wimp).
Its still a very good campaign, but after the first one i was expecting so much more from it
The positive: More events on same map, more content for skirmish-type MP/SP games. Harder game modes are actually -harder- now. Skirmish-type games a re a wee bit more enjoyable now. Corruption system makes it a bit interesting as well. Stat re-assigning, letting you take care of any previous mistakes (first mission only squad screen only)
The Negative: Shorter campaign. Only two major Eldar related missions. Avatar being a pushover. Not enough story info on the new units(other than Chaos Marines, which the campaign is basically more or less about (Apart from a few minor Eldar bits, Tyranid bits and Ork bits) )
'Tis a good game. Great conversations. Liking the new event system on the maps during campaign mode and the corruption system.
But after all the work time they used on it, it still feels like something is lacking a bit. Maybe it is the short campaign. Maybe it is the lack of some minor details in the overall storyline in-game.
The Demanding Gamer shall now rate Chaos Rising
5/10 (Feeling generous today)
