... Hedgewars!
(mini review follows!)
You might describe it as a worms clone, but really I reckon it's more advanced than Worms Armageddon (haven't played the new game so not sure how it compares there) and the graphical style is very closely matched - so much so I instantly felt right at home despite not having played Worms in 5+ years! As I mostly use OS X these days I can't natively play worms, so I was very pleased to find out that Hedgewars works for Windows, Mac, and Linux right out of the box.
The dev blog gives some insight into the new weapons and features that are getting added all the time, and don't let the version number put you off - from what I've tested the game seems very stable.
Multiplayer is present and correct, and this morning I had a match between 5 players, without any problems, and was indeed a most entertaining experience.
I would be interested to hear folks' thoughts on this, and maybe even get a wee bit of THN turn based action going?
