Hey, :)

So I thought I'd ask you more knowledgeable types out there, is there a decent, recent Formula 1 Management game?

Cheers,
J.

the new F1 2011 game is due out at the end of this week, but that's more focused on racing than the management side as far as I am aware. Another one to look up, however, is Formula 1 online, it's not out yet but is due early next year afaik, and can be more of a management only game if that's your thing, from what I have read :)

Crap on a stick. Surely the only thing more boring than a game where you go round the same track 60 odd times is a game about going round the same track 60 odd times but just simulate the actual event...

Football manager was one of the biggest games of the 80's (and possibly 90's). I think there's a huge market for this type of thing.

I'm not a big F1 fan however the tech and strategy that goes on behind F1 I find much more interesting than the races themselves. I reckon I'd prefer a F1 manager style game over an actual F1 racing game. Having said that I'd never buy either :p.

When Chelsea fired their manager a few years ago, there was an open ad for the position or something.

My mate's dad sent in a CV stating he had 15 years of (Championship) Manager experience, and that he'd taken multiple teams from the bottom division to the premiership.

He got a nice letter back stating thanks, but he wasn't quite what they were looking for, but wishing his team luck in the next virtual season, signed by the chairman.

Football Manager is still huge - it's regularly at or near the top of the PC games top sellers list for large portions of the year :)

Heya, :)

the new F1 2011 game

is all about the racing. Could possibly be some fun if I had a steering wheel and pedals, but, alas, it's not the same... ;)

appears to be a browser game...?

and the '00s and looking to keep going strong on the '10s. :D Alas, I have an allergy to football, or I'd probably be in on it...

Yes, well... Hmmm... I guess you didn't enjoy Pizza Tycoon or Theme Hospital neither...! :S

It's a non-real-time strategy game with an easy to follow theme. You get to think, make decisions, manage resources, track consequences, feed information back into your thought process, and go again.

Possibly not everyone's cup of tea, but I can assure you it's a very big "stick" and a very uncrappy "crap"...

Cheers,
J.

P.S. I couldn't find a good place for the following smilies... :p:eek::(:mad:
