Morning All
A few of you will have sensed this already, but for the rest of you this should prove interesting and hopefully we can nip this one in the bud now. We've recently lost a few level 60 players from the WoW guild, having spoken to a couple of them as well as hearing rumours it appears that they are tired of being asked to help lower levels all the time - once most people reach level 60 they are eligable for raid instances and various other 'cool' things i.e. grinding for their epic kit to allow them to attend said instances. Unsurprisingly this is what they really want to be doing although a few will also take time out to help lower levels advance.
Well I guess if we are putting enough strain on the level 60's that they are feeling its better to move on rather than put with it then we need to change the ammount we ask of them so that the game remains fun and they stay with the guild (this is supposed to be fun remember!).
Given the above information, if you do get helped out by someone (level 60 or otherwise) then please make sure you thank them, also don't take it for granted that if they help you one time that they will automatically be availble to help you whenever you are online. Finally, please please do not nag or whine when people are unavailable or when something is particularly hard. I've done this myself and its an easy habit to fall into especially if it gets a response and you get help - its not the way forward and ultimately it will piss people off.
To help avoid all of the above can you please get into the habit of organising what you need help with (research it on thotbott or whatever site you use beforehand) and post up a request for help on the forums (in its OWN thread) along with details and links of what the aim is.
We should also get into the habit of using the forums to organise specific events at specific times so that we get out of the ad-hoc process we are getting into right now. Make sure you organise things at least 48 hours in advance and be prepared to start on time and turn away those who are late i.e. have reserves ready to fill the gaps. Make sure to add the event to the in-game calendar and the forums calenadar as well (as for assistance if you do not know how).
Lets do this and make the game smoother and more fun for everyone.
Finally, on a happy note we have grown massively in the last few weeks with lots of new members. Make sure to make the new people welcome (lets avoid cliques) and get them on teamspeak and xfire if possible. Also if you've been helped out by higher level players then be sure to return the favour to lower level and new players to show them how friendly we are.
