Erm, if you have bought the tunes from iTunes, you can't legally convert them to mp3. But the EULA you have to have it as it is, due to the DRM layer (FairPlay) that it is wrapped in. This is what ensures that you can only play the song on up to 5 machines at any one time, etc. There are a few non-legal ways, and your best bet is google. Sorry!

Here's what ya do...

Use this program to convert .m4p to .m4a:

[mod]Link removed. --RS[/mod]

Then use this program to convert the .m4a to .mp3:

[mod]Link removed. --RS[/mod]

And it's all legal :)

[mod]See follow on post for reasoning. --RS[/mod]

[mod]I've done some reading up on the links provided and I'm not convinced it is actually legal.

I've carefully read the FAQ for the tool and the developer's stance on whether his tool is legal boils down to "well, it should be legal if I use my layman's do-it-and-hope interpretation of the law..." and in all cases I've seen such descriptions the resulting tool is, in fact, not legal.

It's a dubious borderline case, as such I've removed the links erring on the side of caution.[/mod]
