Marcus Brigstocke on Religion

An interesting rant that almost 100% expresses the exact way I feel about everything but was never articulate enough to say the way he has.

Now at first glance this would appear to be linkhive material and maybe it will get moved there in the future. However, I put it here preemptively so people could voice their opinions on what he says because, I think it will make a nice debate.

A very good comedic sketch of religion.

On a more serious note though, I'm a big fan of Daniel Dennet and Christopher Hitchens. Richard Dawkins the "God Delusions" is also a very good read. I'm in the middle of Daniel Dennet's "Breaking the Spell" at the moment and it's a very good read if your religious or not. He analyses religion as a scientific phenomenon, aswell as being quite philisophical in the process.

he raises some very strong points, just have to wait for all the other smug atheists to run round chanting things and acting in exactly the same dissaproving way as religous people. You know the type, the ones that run around yelling "THERE IS NO GOD" like there so clever.

Now demeaning scientology on the other hand... :P

This was first aired on the radio 4 show "The Now Show" broadcast at 6.30 Friday night and 12.30 Saturday lunchtime.

I was lucky enough to be in the viewing audience for this rant :).

The now show with Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis has now just finished its 13th series and will be back in about 4 months, should anyone want more.

Marcus also does a rather good standup called "Planet Corduroy"
