I've been reading up on this boss and the general consensus is that he is one of the hardest in Ulduar, so maybe this will help.

Its a video from Tankspot.com. I think their videos are really helpful and well explained.

This is one nasty piece of wurk, but freaking -awesome- fun.
The dialogue is win! Oh and don't forget that your healers are gonna have their work cut out for em in p2 and p4 so make sure you use any survival cd's you may have handy dps. One of the toughest things in this fight is the very demanding healingz, plasma blast hits like a truck driven by Satan who -just- got a phonecall mid shag and is now very grumpy.
Hope you're having fun in Ulduarz guys!

I'll have you know most Druids use Typhoon/Hurricane on themselves to keep their fur sparkling :D

Most people (especially raid leaders) also expect the Balance druid to keep their Typhoon glyphed to remove the knockback, especially in dungeons and raids :P

Well, we got P1 and P2 down, need some more practice on P3. I am wondering if we need a genuine ranged tank a la Leotheras / Krosh Firehand for this phase?

I agree herem Typhoon unglyphed is very, -very- annoying for tanks as well.

Thunderflux's explosive wee aside, I really think Mimiron is one of the more intense, crazy and fun fights I've experienced in a long time.

One of my favorite moments was not part of the fight but the tram leading to him. No, not Midge's death but how awesome and epic it looks and feels.

Hehe fluxus damm you and your wee spray!!

On topic: Well i think the tanking is alright on the boss in phase 3. When we are going to use a ranged tank we will have 1 less dps on the adds and atm the adds are not getting killed quick enough. I think the current set-up is good enough we only need some practice then we will get the mofo down.

Cheers,

Having a Tankadin as the ranged tank is fine, between Avenger's Shield, Exorcism and Hand of Reckoning, plus Consecrate and Judgment if you can get them to reach.

Having a specific ranged-tank setup that's different from that could be detrimental to the DPS in prior phases and would definitely make an already difficult situation in the third phase even harder.

That said, we did brilliantly on that night considering it's a new and difficult encounter; got no doubt we can clear it this week.
