[Minecraft] 1.8 Server Launch

So the new THN server for Minecraft 1.8 is nearly ready and will (hopefully!) be launched at 6:30 BST this Friday (23rd Sep).

To celebrate the new server and all the shiny new features that 1.8 brings, we're inviting people to come and join us on the new server this friday evening to come and start a new shiny world!

We now have multiworld support on the server, so there'll be a Creative world, where you can have access to unlimited items and can build and fly as much as you like, and then there'll be an Adventure world, which will be fairly strict, so no /item or /give commands, with monsters on, no overriding of time / weather, "as it's meant to be played" as some might say.

In between these worlds, we'll have a "Hub" world, which is where new players will spawn, and will host a little "THN village" with world portals to travel to the Adventure and Creative world as well as the Archive world and Skylands! Basically something to look pretty for people to spawn in!

So come bring your other fellow gamer friends and join the server on friday evening at minecraft.thehavennet.org.uk and come and build your new THN village, and then we can all go a-adventuring and dig the night away

Thanks for setting this up wol. The plan for the evening is as follows

1) Load in the hub world and all comment how pretty it is
2) Build the hub village. This will need walls and some basic areas zoned out at the very least
2.1) PIZZA (Optional, participant funding required)
3) Build the main portals
4) Activate ze portals
5) Find a suitable location for the other end of the portals on creative and archive
6) GOTO: ADVENTURE WORLD
7) Build ourselves a fortress and mine worthy of mention and start exploring!
