With the Multiplay Creative competition around the corner running on MC 1.0 we were left with no option. We have updated the THN minecraft server to minecraft version 1.0 as of Today. You will now need to update you plugins and client in order to connect.

This is a development build of bukkit, we will endevour to keep updating until we hit an RB release, but please let us know if anything is obviously broken...

In addition to this, we need to make a decision on survival world regeneration. See the attached poll

**EDIT**

In hindsight a control group would be usefull in the poll to know how many people have actually voted at all or to register a none option...

Can an admit add 'none' and 'control' to the poll. And can everyone interested make sure you check the control group along with your desired choice.

Poll closes in 5 days!

As far as I can tell, vibs missed the main point of the poll: The 1.0 update brings in a lot of new autogenerated terrain to the nether world, which we wont get at the extents that we've explored so far, until it gets regenerated.

So either you keep the nether world as is, but have to go a lot further to get the new things, or..... delete the nether world, and regenerate the portals, and then get the funky netherworld structures :)

the main survival world doesnt gain any new structures afaik.

e2a: In strongholds you get the ender portal things. We've found one stronghold already, so that wont get changed. Not sure about others though.

The thing that the survival world gets is NPC characters in villages. I imagine there might be a way to hax these into existing villages? but they wont appear by default id imagine.

Nothings really changed in creative, so that shouldnt need to be regenerated. It's also not been built in too much.

I didn't miss the point. If we want NPC villagers anywhere near where we've already explored and don't want giant gashes in the terrain as they've fixed the terragen again then we need to regen survival as well.

Thats why I gave the options as variable

I've been working daily on what i have been constructing over the last few weeks. I cant see any reason to reset the survival world. Is there a way to reset portions of it, ie just purge everything between 4 2d coordinates ?

Unfortunately not since the Nether, the End and the Overworld register as 3 separate map identities they can be purged individually by removing the map file (and replacing it by placing a 'clean' one or even swapping with a separate map file), however parts within cannot be edited in the same manner.

I think we actually can re-gen parts of the map through world-edit but you'd end up still having edges in the landscape between generated sections which would have to be manually smoothed.

Although there are enough seams so far from when the world went spazzy and Vibs had a powercut.

I dont think its worth just selecting small square areas to regenerate really. We can let the new worlds outside the current extends generate as we explore, but for the stuff we've got at the moment, i wouldnt say its that worth it.

I wouldn't call the area outside of either the yellow or red small. People have been outside these areas but as far as i can tell, nothing has been built, there are several unmarked npc villages too.

I dont think we would miss the areas outside either of the 2 colour's of lines.

You'd lose Vel and Pwnstar's base if you did that (very SE corner) but as they've not been on in ages, I really doubt they'd mind.

Theres also enough other space around which hasnt been explored yet which will be on the new terragen. Currently theres a small percentage of the land usage already pregenerated, i think selectively deleting some areas probably isnt the way forward.
