Missions - Current & Future

I'm building up a bit of a missions portfolio. I'm getting a bit better at building them each time but I'm trying not to get too complicated too quickly. In particular I'm keen not to have to write lots of script, but I'm finding that I'm needing a bit to do the more cunning stuff.

Below is a list of missions we've played and their current state. Following, a list of missions I'm working on.

If you've got any ideas for missions you'd like to see then shout and I'll see what I can do.

Current:

Destroy the Radar

Destroy the (really ridiculously huge) radar truck. Destruction equals instant win.

Needs some work so that destruction isn't an instant win and that we need to exfiltrate to a safe zone, though exfiltration also needs to be under pressure and not just a "walk out 'cause everyone's dead".

Destroy the Ammo Dump

More complex variant of the Radar mission, where we do actually have to escape afterwards.

Exfiltration needs some sort of pressure to make it more interesting than a stroll through the fields.

Future:

Intercept the Convoy

At Ghostwolf's request... intercepting a munitions convoy heading from a depot in the hills to an OPFOR controlled port.

Got the convoy working and seem to have basic win/lose conditions in place. Need to spice up the ending and wire up the triggers to actual win/lose not just "hey, they escaped". Probably also need to make the convoy tougher.

Secure the Downed Helo

Black Hawk Down type scenario where we need to rescue a crashed pilot or VIP as insurgents converge on their location.

Got the helo crash script implemented but very little else. Need to use learning on exfiltration and reinforcements.

Quick update on the Convoy mission:

Got some surprises added. Still need to wire up the actual win/lose bits and write a brief mission overview and stuff but I think this one should be a bunch of fun. :D

The Convoy mission should now be ready to go. Can't tell whether it's going to be too easy just yet, though some surprises should keep us on our toes.

Or rather is it possible to program an assassination mission where say, with a bit of RP(teleporting without ruining the atmosphere), we all start off on a hill overlooking a base, and we have to kill 1+ men who are lets say, obviously the target, and then evac, when we die in the evacuation, we spawn at the evac point, and try to render support, and the mish is a fail if everyone dies at least once.

So it could be that 5 people die and the last person is lost in the hills, and the remaining 5 people assemble and have to rescue them. Infact rather than an assassination how about take some "photos" instead.

I tend to think of them as requests. :)

I'll have a look and see what it'd take to do an assassination. It'd only be a small change to that template to then make it an arrest and extract, which'd be cool.
