So, I did a mix late this night. It's electro, so if you don't like that, don't listen to it. And it's not the chillout kind either. Gah I'm hungover.

here it is, anyway. 42 mins. Enjoy.

edit: also Here

Hey thats an awsome mix, it might be me, but I actually find it quite relaxing, but maybe thats just my taste in music!

Well done Dj DocBot

|Nice, Ive been trying to get to grips with Traktor 3, but ive only managed one decent transition so far ...

I find that mixmeister is a good place to start. It does most of the work for you, allowing you to learn what sounds good and what really doesn't. Once you're confident with that, easing yourself into Traktor is (at least a little) easier.

one of the most important things is to make sure (and this is something I miss fairly often myself) that the songs are in phase, i.e. so you don't get the 3rd beat on the 2nd etc. That can really spoil a transition. And it's something that's easy to forget, you just focus on getting the tempos right...

Thanks a lot BiG_D, mixmeister takes a lot of the hardship out of transition and lets me concentrate on the playlist. I tried another mix earlier on Traktor, though, and it was sounding great until I made a big mistake on one of the transitions and spoiled it all :(

Yeah, this is especially hard in traktor when you cant listen to the 'slave' deck through your headphones (too hard to set up). Makes beatcounting very important.

Actually, it's not that difficult if you have the hardware. If you onboard sound as well as a separate card (like I do) you can run the preview channel through the onboard and hook headphones up to that. :)

Nice! Ive got a Soundblaster 2 and Realtek onboard, so I guess I can try the same thing! *eager*

I just use my onboard sound, "back" channel for the "booth" and regular for the "monitor" channels.

(most onboard soundcards have a few extra channels :P - you should see 4 outputs to choose from in the preferences in traktor)

Any chance of a setlist please, DocBot? Im gonna give this to a dude in work, I think he'd like it, but I want him to know what I'm giving him :p I'm working on a mix of my own, by the way. I have to keep retrying it until I get it all just right :)
