My girlfriend is going abroad, and I want to know if I'll get charged for sending texts to her. I'm pretty sure I can't get charged for receiving them, and I know it costs her some 11p a text.

I'm on a pay monthly contract with Virgin, so if anybody's done anything similar, information would be much appreciated. Oh, she's leaving in a few hours, so if anybody could give me fairly fast info, I'd love you forever <3

You don't get charged extra for sending texts to a number that's from your country, regardless of where in the world it's located at the moment. She will pay extra for her texts, however, and would pay extra for RECEIVING calls (if you wanted to call her, for instance) - you would just pay as you normally would, though.
