my keyboard is being abit special, the @ symbol is where the " symbol is and the other way around, also i can't even find the pound sign, i believe this is the setup of an american keyboard but i have changed the settings on the control panel under languages.

any ideas?

under those same settings

there is a drop down box. in the drop down box is different language types, you have to add the language, then select it in that drop down box otherwise it just stays the same, try that if you havent.

What I also do, just to make sure, is to remove all traces of the English (US) language from my system as possible.

It annoys me that PCs sold in the UK with UK versions of Windows are still set to US English and not real English by default...

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Regional and Language Settings | Languages | Text services and input languages | Details... | Default input language
